The National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), Mumbai is distinguished as one of the finest premier training Institutes of Government of India for imparting training and capacity building in the field of indirect taxation. NACIN (then NACEN), Mumbai started functioning from a rental building at Colaba, Mumbai before moving to the present building at Bhandup in 1984. Ensconced in a two-acre beautiful green campus in Bhandup East in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, this Zonal Training Institute (ZTI) brings together a highly diverse experience of cutting-edge learning experience.
As one enters the Academy, the most striking feature is the two-acre green campus, which has been developed to provide an experience of learning in a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. A large number of winged denizens such as the weaver bird, golden oriole, kingfisher, copper smith barbet, cuckoos etc. feel at home amidst the canopy of a large variety of trees and plants in the campus. The campus has seasonal flowers and trees which makes the campus calm and serene.
NACIN, Mumbai primarily imparts training to the CBIC officers of the Western Zone comprising the states of Maharashtra and Goa on a host of Customs and GST topics as also on IT skills, soft skills and yoga & stress management.
NACIN Mumbai has earned laurels for designing and execution of an extensive training program for skill upgradation and capacity building to ensure smooth implementation of GST, one of the largest tax reforms of India. It has also been providing GST training to representatives of trade bodies, trade professionals and State GST officers. NACIN Mumbai also conducts training programs for MBA (International Business) students of IIFT as well as training programs ffor the Indian Trade Service (ITS) Probationers.
As one of the designated training institutes for Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation program (ITEC) of Ministry of External Affairs, NACIN Mumbai has imparted trainings to Customs officials from countries such as Palestine and Maldives. On past occasions NACIN Mumbai has partnered with the US - Customs and Border Protection (US-CBP) and with U.S. Department of State’s Export Control and related Border Security (EXBS) Program to conduct trainings. NACIN Mumbai has also conducted trainings on environmental issues in association with UNEP.
